Mimi was great very supportive and a wealth of knowledge . The location however was noisy and I think I would prefer a more private place .

Class gave good insight into a new technique I had not tried before. Evidently more to this, but time limits don?t allow for completing the whole process. Tutor was good. Explained well and engaged with the students.

This was my first time attending an event. I really enjoyed it and will come to more. I am very interested in the exercises in changing from right brain to left because I find I am procrastinating on starting my art projects because I just need to get things done. Hopefully this will help me to get started and stop procrastinating!

I recently changed from acrylics to oils ... this is my first en plein air painting in oils .. ( as previous attempt with acrylics didn't work out ... the paint dried too fast ) ... I really love the trees in this scene along the walking path on Beach Road Morphett Vale ... not sure if it's finished yet ... maybe i'm too picky ...

This whale painting marked a turning point in my creative journey and helped me rediscover my love for painting. I have always felt deeply connected to the ocean, which for me represents both calm and emotional depth. The whale became a natural symbol of quiet strength, wisdom, and gentle movement through vast spaces.Rather than focusing purely on realism, I wanted to capture a feeling ? the stillness beneath the surface and the sense of being held by the ocean. The piece evolved through lay

If we take a walk in our backyard or local park look around you , nature has presented to us an endless palette of colours, and patterns to create. A flower is created with repeated shapes , that can be reinterpreted in many ways to create a canvas of mesmerising aesthetics. If you look at a bird , how many patterns can be found to recreate its beauty. I take what nature has presented and recreate to express my art work.

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
